Text to Apply PTVE @ 97211ResponsibilitiesJob purposeThe Electro-Mechanic role is responsible for maintaining and responding to trouble calls for repairs on manufacturing equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems.Duties and responsibilitiesThe primary job duties and responsibilities are:
  • Repair, modify, and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure products are in specification.
  • Fabricates parts not commercially available,
  • Troubleshoots electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls.
  • Communicates on all project needs with Maintenance & Production Supervisors/Managers.
  • Assist (as required) in the training and skill upgrading of other maintenance and production personnel.
  • Maintains excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area.
  • Maintains effective communication with operators and plant supervision.
  • Immediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazards.
  • Maintains excellent safety record.
  • Maintains an excellent attendance record.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsExperienceExperience required:
  • Demonstrated industrial maintenance experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including successful completion of jobs or similar activities.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in mechanics.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in controls.
  • Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS); Maintenance Connection experience preferred.
SkillsAn individual must have the following skills in the Electro-Mechanic position:
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer knowledge.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with little to no supervision.
  • PLC ladder diagram reading.
  • Full understanding of all levels of wiring diagrams.
Physical requirementsThis position is located in a manufacturing location. Physical requirements will include but are not limited to:
  • Standing for lengthy periods of time (frequent)
  • Sitting for extended periods of time (frequent)
  • Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional)
  • Working in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, occasional odors, and moving equipment (frequent)
Working conditionsAn individual who works in the Electro-Mechanic position:
  • Proficient to expert electrical and controls knowledge; Allen Bradley experience preferred.
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis, and work in a hot/cold environment.
  • Must have a proficient knowledge of hand, power, and diagnostic tools.
  • Must have personal tools up to one (1) inch.
EducationHigh School Diploma or GED required.A technical school certificate or diploma in a specific work-related area, such as electronics technology or electro-mechanical engineering technology, is preferred.Pactiv Evergreen is now a part of Novolex.
