Southwest Cheese is the world's largest manufacturer of cheese/whey products and is located in Clovis, New Mexico. It is a joint venture between Glanbia and The Greater Southwest Agency and provides ample opportunity for career growth and experience in a fast-paced, high-performing enterprise.The OpportunityAs the Field Representative you will be responsible for procurement of colostrum and buying strategies in accordance with agreed upon material buying plans at the optimum cost/quality relationship. This permanent position will report to the Colostrum Procurement Manager and duties include but are not limited to the following;
  • Develop, manage, and maintain farmer/dairy relationships to meet business continuity objectives.
  • Coordinate farmer/dairy visit and evaluation programs.
  • Identify and select source of premium colostrum.
  • Manage contract negotiations and farm/dairy set-up for implementation.
  • Prepare, maintain and communicate long term sourcing strategies to ensure colostrum availability per sales demand.
  • Monitor the quality and consistency of raw materials received and adhere to farmer agreements and contracts.
  • Consult with manufacturing and quality to investigate and resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.
  • Identify potential risks in areas of procurement and ensure they are managed to acceptable levels.
  • Prepare and keep record of required Contract, Food Safety documentation.
The Skills you will bring to the team
  • Experience and strong knowledge of dairy farm operations.
  • Valid driving license with a clean driving record and no moving violations.
  • Strong negotiation, problem solving, critical thinking and interpersonal skills; strong verbal communication and public relations skills are required
  • Ability to work across functions and to effectively handle changing and/or conflicting priorities
  • SAP knowledge
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to manage many details and deadlines while working with accuracy and precision
  • Ability to work and communicate across value chain with diverse team members
  • Work independently in a fast-paced and nimble team environment
