Position HighlightsThis posting has been updatedThe Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies (DPS) in the College of Education invites applications for a full-time academic appointment in the School Psychology Program.This Open-rank position begins August 2026.The School Psychology Program offers an Educational Specialist (EdS) degree and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. The PhD degree program is accredited by both the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). The EdS degree program is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). The program is growing and is fully committed to playing a key role in addressing the needs of school districts in the surrounding community, as well as impacting the provision of school psychology services on a national and global level. Faculty members engage in applied research that can directly inform practice and address the needs of children, adolescents, families, school personnel, and policy-makers.The College of Education supports the university’s purpose, mission, and core values. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a commitment to access and psychology best practices.
  • Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in school psychology.
  • Maintain an active research agenda in school psychology.
  • Secure internal/external funding for research program.
  • Engage in advising and mentoring of students.
  • Direct and supervise dissertations.
  • Serve on qualifying and comprehensive examination committees.
  • Supervise graduate students in field experiences.
  • Provide service to the academic and professional community.
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance and leadership to faculty and students within the school psychology program.
  • Support and contribute to the initiatives in the department, college, and university.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Earned doctoral degree in school psychology by August 2026.
  • Evidence of a research program, including publications appropriate for appointment at a research-intensive institution and commensurate with rank (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor).
  • Experience working with school-aged populations who lack access to resources and/or services.
  • Experience engaging in research, teaching, and service that contributes to the advancement of the school psychology practice.
  • State of Arizona certification or eligible for State of Arizona certification as a school psychologist.
  • Professional experience as a school psychologist in a school setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate-level school psychology courses.
  • Research and teaching experience in school-based intervention, mental health/psychotherapy, and/or school violence/crisis intervention; full consideration will be given to strong candidates in other areas as well.
  • Completion of an APA-accredited program and an APA-accredited internship.
  • Experience with graduate-level supervision of school psychology students.
