Preco is now hiring for a Production Operations Manager in Lenexa, KS.The Production Operations Manager is a critical operational and cultural leader on the team at Preco. The primary function of the role is to manage the machining, fabrication, and assembly teams that build Preco’s industry-leading die-cutting products. Their work is central to our service to our customers, and critical to maintaining Preco’s legacy of robust, precision equipment. The role requires a strong ability to lead teams and work collaboratively to solve difficult operational challenges.Preco is a leading designer and manufacturer of precision automated processing systems for high-speed and high-accuracy cutting, perforating, welding, and other specialized industrial processing applications. With our proprietary die cutting and laser-based manufacturing capabilities, Preco has also become one of the largest contract manufacturing service (CMS) providers in North America.Key Responsibilities:Provides Operational and Team leadership1.Oversee the machining, fabricating, electrical assembly, and mechanical assembly teams2.Work with peers in the management team to develop KPIs to measure and track resource utilization and on time delivery.3.Create and maintain a production schedule with part production and assembly milestones; work with Purchasing and Project Management teams to communicate materials and resource needs.4.Manages team assignments and sets priorities for team workload to maximize on-time delivery.5.Directs resolution of equipment/technical/personnel problems on production floor.6.Lead the development of work instructions for key assembly and validation processes.7.Lead the development of maintenance procedures and schedules for production equipment.8.Develop and implement a redline/ECR process for Production teams.Provide cultural and business leadership9. Embody a customer-centric focus to maintain Preco’s legacy of high-quality, robust die-cutting equipment.10. Foster and maintain a culture of productivity and collaboration between Production teams and other departments.11. Foster a culture of continuous improvement for the manufacturing processes, tools, and production environment.12. Lead safety and cleanliness initiatives.13. Creates business plans for re-investment into machine shop capability14. Leads problem-solving efforts with strong collaboration between teams and stakeholders, and a process-based approach.15. Work with product mgrs. to develop cost reduction strategies in the manufacturing and fabrication process.16. Maintain Preco’s strong talent base by focusing on personnel training and development.Job Qualifications:·2-year technical degree with equivalent experience.·4 years industrial/supervisory experience.·Experience applying lean manufacturing principles.·Ability to read prints, schematics, specifications, and purchase agreements/orders.·Strong interpersonal, leadership, written communication, and computer skills.·Understanding manufacturing processes.·Up to 10% travel expectations.Preferred Qualifications:·4-year degree·Additional training in finance/accounting/business is helpful.·Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical prints.·Experience in machining, welding, and/or industrial equipment manufacturing environments.Our dedicated staff keeps us at the leading edge of precision automated processing systems in our industry.
