- Developing designs, documentation modification, production support
- Contribute to the success of a cross-functional team to develop solutions to production and field testing problems. This could include initial design, prototyping, and environment testing solutions.
- Develop and review product designs and analyze development and design requirements
- Develop mechanical engineering processes and best practices to align with our other Avionics test sites
- Design of test fixtures, cables, interconnects and associated documentation
- Perform tolerance analysis
- Prepare and present project / technical information to peers, internal management and customers
- Plan and manage tasks effectively
- Candidate must be detail oriented and be able to excel in a team environment where the individual will interact with various engineering teams comprised of other mechanical engineers, mechanical drafters, electrical engineers, software engineers and system engineers.
- Excellent working knowledge with Solidworks, NX Designer, AutoCAD, or similar design tools, and 3D printing
- Specific tasks include enclosure structural design, thermal, vibration, other environmental considerations, design verification, prototype build and production transition to the factory.
- A successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of more complex modules and complete products.
- Experience with mechanical design
- Ability to translate requirements into physical design
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- Familiar with Collins or Avionics products
- Development experience
- Mechanical test equipment design experience in manufacturing environment
