Rochester, New YorkJK Executive Strategies is proud to partner with full-service law firm in search of a Collections Paralegal to join its team!The Collections Paralegal should have experience in creditor rights, debt collection litigation, and judgment enforcement. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and have experience with document management software, NYCEF filing and related programs.If you are detail-oriented, well-organized, and enjoy working with legal professionals, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of collection files, including commercial and consumer accounts, ensuring timely and accurate case progression.
- Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents related to collection matters.
- Conduct thorough review of client documentation to confirm claim validity and compliance with applicable laws.
- Coordinate service of process, court filings (both electronic and in-person), and related deadlines.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and debtors to facilitate resolution.
- Monitor case calendars, track statute of limitations, and ensure compliance with procedural requirements.
- Prepare settlement agreements, payment plans, and satisfaction of judgment documents.
- Support attorneys in trial preparation and hearings as needed.
- Maintain accurate billing records and case status updates in the firm's case management system.
- Manage regular phone correspondence.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associates degree, preferred.
- 3+ years of paralegal experience in collections, creditors' rights, or litigation.
- Knowledge of New York State and federal debt collection laws and court procedures.
- Proficiency in e-filing systems (NYSCEF).
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal case management software preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
