- Minimum of 2 years of general patient care experience with a minimum of 1 year in an acute care setting, within the past 5 years.
- Minimum of 40 hours of professional development activities, 50% of which are continuing education units (CEUs) or relevant academic coursework. The remainder can include mentoring, Grand Rounds, independent reading, etc.
- Prior experience as a clinical preceptor and prior experience teaching to a wide variety of audiences.
- Demonstrates ability to consistently meet clinical caseload requirements of a staff level therapist.
- Ability to work a minimum of 32 hours and 4 days per week.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to recognize signs of distress.
- CPR certification from AHA.
- Basic computer skills in word processing and on line communication.
- Proven ability to mentor professional behaviors including interpersonal, time management, problem solving and self-initiation skills.
- This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- Prior professional clinical experience in an academic medical center environment.
- Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary health provider team.
- Ability to work full time, 5 days per week.
- Possession of a Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited professional educational program.
- Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board of California
- CPR certification from AHA.
