Description :We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Yard Jockey to join our team. This role is responsible for the safe movement and staging of trailers on company property, as well as supporting the coordination of cold storage and transportation activities. The ideal candidate is organized, communicates effectively, and prioritizes safety in all tasks.Key Responsibilities:Safely move and stage trailers on-site, following all vehicle and powered industrial truck safety proceduresAccurately set temperatures for refrigerated trailers during loading and unloadingCommunicate trailer status and cold storage details with Order Assembly, Transportation, and Quality Assurance teamsPrioritize trailer staging at loading docks and throughout the yard based on operational needsTrack and manage trailer inventory, including loaded, empty, dry, and refrigerated unitsConduct daily yard checks and report trailer status to the SupervisorIdentify trailers in need of inspection or repair and relay details to Garage and Transportation teamsUse a handheld radio to communicate with plant personnel, operations, and managementMaintain accurate records of trailer movements and provide daily activity updates to managementMeet performance goals such as trailer moves per hour and on-time departuresEnsure trailer staging aligns with the site plan; suggest adjustments based on trailer pool fluctuationsAssist with training new hires and contribute to a positive, productive work environmentComplete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and documentation for assigned tractorSupport route drivers with trailer retrieval as neededSkills : Verbal Skill (Eng Lang): Required ExpertEducation : Less than High SchoolLicences & certifications Non-Commercial License Powered Industrial Truck
