
Plant Mechanic- Local 127 , Glenrock, WY

- High School diploma, GED, or proof of equivalent.
- Minimum one year Mechanic experience, (preferred experience in a power or chemical plant), OR completion of college level associate degree in related field of study; OR completion of an apprenticeship or other equivalent training that resulted in certification at the Journeyman level.
- Must be able to perform critical alignments on all rotating equipment using roto-align equipment. Includes pumps, fan and gearboxes.
- Must be able to weld low pressure, carbon steel pipe up to 6” in diameter.
- Must be able to install bearings, mechanicals seals, packing, and rebuild pumps, valves, and gearboxes.
- Must understand and utilize mathematical calculations for rigging purposes when lifting equipment.
- Must understand coal handling equipment and maintain coal belts and associated equipment.
- Must be able to perform machine shop work using a lathe, drill press, boring bar, etc.
- Must pass a Mechanic exam.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical exam.
- Must be able to work in power plant conditions and meet the physical demands as noted below.- Must have a positive team attitude when working with other team members.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Follows industry or specific guidelines, particularly as they relate to safety, health and environmental practices.
- Experience as a Journeyman Plant Mechanic
- Certified Welder
