- Works with compressor engineering as needed and performs research to determine motor configurations for remanufacturing.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods for Trane Hermetic motors.
- Provide timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems, including investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.
- Create cost-effective and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools to improve manufacturing operations.
- Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality in accordance with Lean principles.
- Uphold manufacturing standards including machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings, and cycle times.
- Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.
- Serve as a voice of the customer for input for new design development.
- Partner with on-site EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
- Identifies needs and proposes elements to be included in the annual Capital Plan and coordinates implementation of projects in the facility.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Degree preferred in Engineering or related technical disciplines
- Ability to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design
- Effective communication at multiple levels coupled with ability to build relationships
- Growth mindset – desire to expand technical skillset
- Results-driven to maintain accountability and customer-focus
- PFMEA experience preferred
- Experience with MS Office (primarily Excel) is required.
- Experience with Oracle, Windchill, AutoCAD, or Inventor preferred
- Previous experience with electric motors and compressors is highly desirable
