- Ensures accounting records and transactions are accurate, comply with company policy and have supporting documentation
- Monitors, analyzes, and reconciles income statement general ledger accounts, including
- PR and related accounts
- All other op ex-accounts
- Monitors, analyzes, and reconciles balance sheet general ledger accounts, including
- Prepaids, other assets, accruals, other liabilities
- Fixed assets
- Goodwill and intangibles
- Debt
- Cap Ex
- Oversees and records cap ex transactions, including purchases, transfers, disposals and annual asset verifications
- Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Month-end and year-end close
- Prepares and posts journal entries
- Instrumental in the continual improvement of accounting processes
- Monthly reporting
- Participates in the timely preparation, review and distribution of monthly financial statements
- Provides support for region and local management
- Actively supports the annual financial audit process and income tax compliance with external preparers
- Performs tax duties, including
- Sales and use and other local tax compliance
- Sales and use and other local tax audits
- Performs treasury duties, including
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Initiation / approval of ACH and wire transfers through bank portals
- Manages employee expenses, including
- Maintaining company credit cards and limits
- Reconciling the Certify expense system
- Assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Advanced data mining and MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Proven experience in an accounting department environment
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)
- Awareness of business trends
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA (or working towards certification) is preferred
- Minimum 3 years accounting experience
- Computer skills required: ERP Software; Microsoft Office Suite
