  • Utilize CAD software (Inventor) to create detailed solid models and design drawings.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure design integrity and functionality as well as timely completion of projects.
  • Generate complete technical documentation, including design specifications, bills of materials, and test plans.
  • Work with vendors, machine shops, sheet metal shops, etc. to get parts fabricated.
  • Assists in the preparation of Purchase Orders for parts and/or components needed to build prototypes and engineering models.
  • Liaise with vendors to secure samples of parts, which could be incorporated in new or existing products.
  • Prototype and test mechanical designs to overcome design challenges and verify performance and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve designs and processes.
  • Support manufacturing processes by providing technical assistance and resolving design-related issues.
What You Need for this Position
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Two or more years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Proficiency in solid modeling software, such as Inventor, SolidWorks or equivalent.
  • Experience with surface modeling and sheet metal design a plus.
  • Creativity and strong problem-solving skills are required for this position.
  • Familiarity with injection molding and processes.
  • Experience designing machined, sheet metal and cast parts is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including materials, statics, dynamics, and thermodynamics.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other engineering analysis tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and techniques, including machining, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Good math skills, accuracy and quality consciousness are essential.
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of mechanical design, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to ASME Y14.5.
