
Design Resource Center Assistant

- Maintain general library to include ordering books and exam study guides, logging books and materials into the database, monitoring shelves and reshelving, and archival, disposal, or donation of books and materials.
- Assist code staff through updating code books as corrections and updates are received, managing the NFPA annual subscription and other subscriptions including MADCAD, ASTM, etc.
- Organize lunch seminars and product presentations and communicate to staff. Track and enter CEUs for AIA and IIDA programs.
- Schedule and meet with sales representatives of product manufacturers. Receive and review new resource materials for architectural and interior building components, including but not limited to, researching and obtaining pricing, samples, and specifications. Update material library.
- Update and maintain manufacturing database pertaining to products, sustainability criteria, healthy materials, and sales representative information.
- Work with sustainability team to ensure material library aligns with Flad’s healthier material criteria.
- Periodically clean up sample library, removing discontinued products and products that do not meet Flad’s sustainable material committments.
- Conduct research as needed for designers and architects on specific products use, cost, or installation methods. Assist designers with ordering project materials, assembling project finish binders, and completing finish boards.
- For the firm’s internal needs, assist with ordering of furniture, coordinate furniture repairs with Technical Services, work with Human Resources to order equipment for ergonomic accommodations, etc.
- Degree in a field related to the design industry preferred.
- Three years of relevant experience required. Architectural, interiors, or construction background preferred.
- Sustainability accreditation preferred.
- This individual will be scheduled to work 30 hours per week and is required to work in the Madison office during their scheduled hours.
