  • Lead improvements to operations through manufacturing engineering analysis of existing operations compared to future requirements based on capacity, cost reduction, safety and/or risk avoidance opportunities.
  • Manage continuous improvement team to perform work analysis studies and execute value stream improvements.
  • Work in conjunction with area leaders to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives based on performance-based metrics and strategy deployment.
  • Facilitate lean events (value stream mapping, continuous improvement activities, etc.) and lead improvement projects involving cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and mentor Manufacturing Engineers, Process Technicians, and area leadership in lean manufacturing principles.
  • Review production flow problems as they are identified and implement solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and update documentation and training.
  • Contribute to initiatives of plant functions such as safety, quality, environment, production control, etc., to improve operations.
Qualifications:
  • Four-year technical degree, preferably in engineering, with 5 years relevant experience; a 2-year technical degree, preferably in engineering, with 10 years of relevant experience; or no degree with 15 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Operational Excellence methodologies such as Continuous Improvement Events, Value Stream Mapping, TPM, and 5S.
  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills to facilitate discussions with a wide variety of personnel at various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to support multiple projects at once.
  • Must have valid driving privileges
  • Occasional travel (0-5%)
  • Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)
