Shipping Supervisor 2nd ShiftDirect HireHouston, TX 77041Position SummaryThe Supervisor duties will be directly related to receiving, shipping and inventorying of finished goods. Position will require training and mentoring employees on all processes related to the equipment operation. Also responsible for increasing productivity, improving efficiency, eliminating waste and striving for error free service to our customers, while doing so with highest regards of following all safety protocols.Position ResponsibilitiesMay include;
  • Oversee the movement of material in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
  • Train, instruct and supervise employees using established and new material management/flow methods to ensure on-time delivery of correct count of products/materials in a safe and timely manner to meet production demands.
  • Provide work assignments, execute schedules, respond to changes, procure parts and communicate production demands to employees as well as perform quality and safety audits and generate maintenance.
  • Manage levels and accuracy of inventory, along with outside suppliers to achieve high on time delivery performance and material flow efficiency.
  • Monitor, control and dispatch all outbound and inbound work to the team.
  • Work directly with the clerk to create and maintain all inbound and outbound paperwork.
  • Work directly with inventory control to help reconcile inventory and work on any issues related to inventory of equipment or service parts.
  • Maintain high employee morale through good employee-management relations and through knowledge of policies where applicable. Recognize and inform higher supervision of hourly employees' capabilities.
  • Ensure that workplace safety and housekeeping at acceptable levels at all times.
  • Monitor the safety, cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • ·Experience using a warehouse management system
  • ·Prior working knowledge of MAPICS and Kronos is preferred.
  • ·Working knowledge of MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • ·High level of attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills
  • ·Effective organizational and time management skills
  • ·Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are required.
  • ·Effective team development and project supervision skills.
  • ·Established history creating a culture of engaged employees and developing positive working relationships
  • ·Ability to apply strong work ethics, integrity, and the mindset of being results oriented and compliance oriented behavior on the job.

Experience
  • ·8 plus years of experience in shipping or related field required.
  • ·3 years of experience in a leadership role
Education
  • ·High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • ·Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, or a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
