As a site leadership team member at 3M Decatur, the role of Site Plant Engineering Manager is to critically ensure that all maintenance and reliability across the site are established and maintained. These responsibilities are to enable site operations to not only achieve business needs but also remain in compliance with all relevant legislation and relevant company procedures and standards. - to act as key member of site leadership team helping to ensure achievement of all production targets to satisfy business needs.
- to lead, mentor, and enforce site EHS procedures/ practices and ensure site compliance to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
- to develop, monitor, and align on all issues relevant to the site maintenance and reliability, including preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- to create and develop all aspects of the maintenance organization and personnel skill sets to meet changing business goals.
- to ensure maintenance personnel at all levels are recruited, fully competent, trained and supervised to operate within all relevant legislation and standards.
- to provide, lead, and coordinate designated representatives, contract resources, and CBRE to maintain all aspects of the site ensuring availability to meet business requirements.
- to oversee all aspects of the maintenance and process instrumentation and controls systems of production machinery/equipment and infrastructure to ensure availability required to meet business targets.
- to develop/monitor/control all agreed budgeted costs related to site maintenance to align with agreed site costs.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Seven (7) years in manufacturing, engineering, or facilities / maintenance engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Five (5) years in manufacturing, engineering, or maintenance leadership experience.
- Ten or more years in manufacturing, engineering, or facilities / maintenance engineering experience.
- Seven or more years in manufacturing, engineering, or maintenance leadership experience.
- Large maintenance management experience in a chemical manufacturing operation.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
