We're looking for a skilled Network Engineer with CCNP-level expertise to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure. This role blends hands-on configuration work with strategic network planning, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across our LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center environments.This is an on-site position in Baton Rouge, LA with an on-call rotation.Key Responsibilities
- Network Design & Implementation
- Architect and deploy enterprise-grade switching, routing, and wireless solutions.
- Configure and maintain Cisco and Aruba network devices, ensuring alignment with best practices and business requirements.
- Operations & Troubleshooting
- Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for incidents and service interruptions.
- Security & Compliance
- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, ACLs, and VPNs.
- Maintain compliance with internal security policies and industry regulations.
- Optimization & Projects
- Lead or contribute to network upgrade and expansion projects.
- Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and solutions.
- Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration records, and change logs.
- Collaborate with systems, security, and application teams to support business initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Technology or related field required.
- Current Cisco CCNP (Enterprise or equivalent concentration) or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Five years minimum in router and switch installation and configuration required.
- 3-5+ years in a network engineering role in a medium-to-large enterprise environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/IOS-XE, Catalyst, Nexus, and ArubaOS-Switch/Aruba CX platforms.
- Proficiency in routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and Layer 2 technologies (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel).
- Experience with wireless networking (Cisco WLC, APs) and network authentication (802.1X, RADIUS).
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (SolarWinds, Prime Infrastructure, Aruba Central, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting skills using tools like Wireshark, NetFlow, and CLI diagnostics.
- Exposure to SD-WAN, DNA Center, or software-defined networking solutions.
- Experience with firewall platforms (ASA, Firepower) and VPN technologies.
- Knowledge of QoS design and implementation.
- Scripting/automation skills (Python, Ansible) for network automation tasks.
- Understanding of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Two years experience in a HealthCare environment preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
