
Manufacturing Supervisor

- Plans, supervises, and directs daily production operations with an ability to anticipate and alleviate production problems, such as material shortages, equipment malfunctions, and employee-related situations, to minimize loss of work hours and achieve production and quality goals for the shift.
- Utilizes skills, work hours, materials, and workflow to achieve production and quality objectives. Exchanges timely information with other supervisors, internal and external to the designated department, on product flow, and workforce needs.
- Coaches, instructs, trains, orients, and motivates employees to achieve production and quality objectives in a safe and effective manner. Initiates and manages departmental teams to achieve desired goals.
- Primarily responsible for coaching and developing hourly employees utilizing the hourly certification system for production departments.
- Participates in the selection and interview processes to fill hourly employee positions.
- Appraises employee performance, including recommending promotions, transfers, and work assignments.
- Initiates efforts to introduce cost reductions, work simplifications, and continuous improvements in methods or equipment.
- Supervises and leads departmental safety and housekeeping practices and maintains a constant alert for hazardous conditions, including responding to emergency situations on an as-needed basis.
- Educates employees and enforces company rules and regulations, including but not limited to, safety rules and regulations, policies and procedures, production, and quality expectations. Assists Human Resources in disciplinary procedures where necessary.
- Leads and participates in company-sponsored activities such as training, site projects, and safety programs.
- Primarily responsible for production-related administrative tasks such as payroll hours approval, reporting, and associated tasks.
- Related tasks as requested by supervisor
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a leadership role such as Team Lead required. Previous experience as supervisor in manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional motivator, skilled in leading teams and conflict resolution skills.
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt strongly preferred
- Ability to supervise fast-paced industrial environment
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP software, required
