Our specialization is in HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) design, construction and supply of equipment and solutions in the power industry worldwide.We are seeking a highly motivated Specialty Products Intern for a 2024 summer internship. This role is part of the Specialty Products team, which is responsible for providing fired boilers and auxiliary equipment.DAY IN THE LIFE:The Specialty Products Intern will be assigned various duties that will expose the student to a variety of engineering skills and disciplines. The student will be assigned primarily to thermal design but may support all other areas of the Specialty Products from time to time, including layout, design, estimating, proposal development and project management teams.As a Specialty Products Intern you will be given the opportunity to learn how to design Specialty Products Equipment based on the customer's specifications and process requirements, Company design guidelines, and applicable Codes, to support the estimating and proposal process, which may include issuing requests for quotations to equipment suppliers and conditioning supplier bids, completing quantities takeoffs and bills of materials, preparing portions of Company proposals, review/compare design codes and specifications against Company technical directives and identify differences impacting scope and/or cost, to develop pricing database for estimating various types of systems equipment, and other tasks as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS. We want the person selected for this role to be successful! The following qualifications are essential to be effective in this role:
  • Completion of three (3) years toward a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited engineering school.
  • Basic understanding of engineering fundamentals and ability to read/analyze technical engineering drawings.
  • Ability to listen and take direction, work independently and with a team, solid communication skills and proactive.
