  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
  • Work experience in workforce training and/or economic development required.
  • Prior teaching in noncredit/workforce environments highly desirable.
  • Requires excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Requires experience with fiscal management and projections, project management, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team on a complex project.
  • Management of successful outcomes and supervision of detailed reporting of outcomes is required.
  • Requires excellent computer skills.
  • Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule to work with faculty and students taking evening classes.
  • Valid Driver's License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, and handle or feel objects and controls.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Job SpecificationThis position provides direct management and oversight of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technology (CAMET) at Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC), with a primary focus on developing and expanding non-credit workforce training. The Director is responsible for creating, scheduling, and implementing short-term, industry-driven programs, classes, and certifications that prepare individuals for high-demand careers in manufacturing, logistics, distribution, and skilled trades. These trainings are delivered across BPCC's campuses in Bossier City, Natchitoches, and Many, as well as at partner industry sites and correctional facilities throughout Northwest Louisiana. Working closely with regional employers, the Director ensures CAMET offerings are responsive to current and emerging workforce needs. This role also supports the broader mission of the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by advancing initiatives that strengthen BPCC's position as a leader in workforce development.Job Duties and Other InformationDuties to include, but not limited to:Program Development and Implementation
  • Lead the creation, scheduling, and delivery of non-credit training programs, classes, and certifications in manufacturing, logistics, distribution, and skilled trades.
  • Coordinate training across BPCC's campuses (Bossier City, Natchitoches, Many), at industry partner sites, and in correctional facilities throughout Northwest Louisiana.
  • Continuously assess regional labor market needs and align programs with emerging skills and technologies.
  • Develop flexible training formats (evening, weekend, hybrid) to meet the needs of working adults and employers.
Industry Partnerships and Engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, community organizations, and government agencies to identify training needs and develop responsive solutions.
  • Serve as a liaison between BPCC and industry partners, ensuring programs support local pipelines and economic growth.
  • Organize tours, open houses, and advisory board meetings to strengthen collaboration and visibility.
  • Represent CAMET and BPCC at local, regional, and state meetings related to manufacturing, skilled trades, and training initiatives.
  • Actively pursue new partnership opportunities, including grant-funded initiatives and customized training contracts.
Program Oversight and Quality
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and supervise instructors who teach classes for CAMET programs.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through data-driven metrics and participant outcomes.
  • Monitor program quality, curriculum relevance, and instructor performance, making improvements as needed.
  • Ensure safe and effective use of facilities, equipment, and training spaces.
  • Implement standardized procedures, safety protocols, and instructional best practices across all CAMET programs.
Operational and Fiscal Management
  • Manage program budgets, including purchasing, invoicing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee contracts, grants, and vendor agreements related to CAMET programming.
  • Support marketing and outreach initiatives to promote CAMET training opportunities.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on program performance, enrollment trends, and financial outcomes for college leadership.
  • Secure new revenue-generating opportunities, including customized fee-based training models and external funding streams.
Institutional Support
  • Collaborate with academic divisions and administrative units to ensure alignment between non-credit programming and BPCC's mission.
  • Contribute to institutional projects and events, including recruiting efforts and community engagement initiatives.
  • Serve on relevant institutional committees and task forces as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
