- Lead the physical layout and design of high-voltage substations, including general arrangements, equipment plans, grounding, conduit routing, and cable schedules.
- Prepare and review markups using Bluebeam Revu, working closely with drafters to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Own design deliverables from concept to IFC, ensuring quality, compliance, and constructability.
- Collaborate across internal teams (P&C, Drafting, Project Management) to align efforts and meet deadlines.
- Serve as a technical resource to troubleshoot issues, perform QA/QC, and support junior team members.
- Engage with utility clients to clarify scope, resolve design issues, and build lasting relationships.
- Assist in project scoping, estimating, and proposal development when needed.
- Up to 25% travel required.
- Complete other duties as assigned, including a willingness to temporarily fill-in for other roles/duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
- PE license preferred, or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in substation physical design, including full design ownership and direct client interface.
- Proficient with Bluebeam Revu for markups and collaboration.
- Strong knowledge of NESC, IEEE, NEC, and utility standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage design scope independently and deliver accurate, constructible packages on time.
