- Read, analyze, and interpret project documents, instructions, proposals, specifications, and other important information to obtain a clear understanding of the project requirements to design Toxic and Flammable Gas Monitoring Systems, chemical distribution and waste collection systems, and electrical power systems, specifically related to facilities in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries.
- Ability to create AutoCAD drawings locating Gas Monitoring devices on architectural plans and create block diagrams and wiring diagrams for Gas Monitoring Systems.
- Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, and design of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based gas monitoring, chemical distribution, and waste collection systems.
- Must be able to take into consideration CA Fire Code, CA and National Electrical Code, and Toxic Gas Ordinance when developing scope, proposals, and system design.
- Familiar with design and Code requirements of Cl.I, Div.2 areas.
- May be responsible for the Programming, Startup, and Commissioning of PLC based control systems, primarily for Life Safety and chemical distribution systems. The projects require a candidate that will ensure the successful installation of the system by taking responsibility for the integration of various sensors and devices that make up the Life Safety System at the clients location.
- Programming, coordinating the installation with contractors, startup and commissioning, final inspections with the city, training, and after sale service of the system. This will require work at the clients location, which may require some travel.
- Assist Project Manager in the planning and implementation of projects related to the design and maintenance of gas monitoring systems in facilities of semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries. Develop and write proposals based on project documents and client meetings.
- Coordinate system design to ensure continuity with other disciplines and field subcontractors installation.
- Available to assist in startup and commissioning of systems
- Work under minimal supervision.
- Relies on experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering
- Advancement to Senior Electrical Engineer is conditional on obtaining Professional Engineer License.
- Minimum of 5 years experience working on facilities construction projects.
- Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with people of all levels of the company as well as customers and contractors.
- Must have computer skills utilizing AutoCAD, MS Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point).
- Knowledge of PLC and touch screen programming languages to program Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and other PLCs and touch screens would benefit the job applicant.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
