This will provide non-clinical services intended to aid students in prevention and maintenance recovery from addiction. The program coordinator has expertise and knowledge to promote substance abuse prevention. Shows the capacity to maintain competent and well-trained staff with cultural competency, establishing community partnerships, peer support, and outcome practices.This is a grant funded position through December, 2024, with the option of a 2-year renewal.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of trauma informed care
  • Demonstrates positive beliefs and feelings regarding clients with varying levels of needs
  • Collects data and conduct follow up surveys from students and the community to sustain relationships
  • Able to work effectively as a part of a team that includes community stakeholders
  • Helps navigate preventative support systems
  • Can model effective coping techniques
  • Provides student and community at large ongoing education and awareness regarding substance abuse prevention, mental health, and other health and wellness information
  • Finds creative and effective solutions to complex problems and justifies prioritization when needed
  • Participate and provide individual supervision weekly with program specialists
  • Advise and assist program specialists with problem-solving, conflict resolution and crisis management
  • Advise and assist program specialists with ethical standards and dilemmas
  • Monitor enrollment, attendance, and referrals to other resources
  • Provided training/technical assistance to staff and parents on topics related to parent engagement, family and community partnership and volunteer activities
  • Serves as a liaison between administration, staff, students, and community at large
  • Effective written and verbal communication, including ability to communicate in a professional manner
  • Attend all meetings and trainings held in the community and/or WorkMatters program
  • Ensure referrals are completed and emergency basic needs are addressed immediately (food, temporary housing, transportation, clothing, etc.)
  • Ability to facilitate student groups as needed for substance use and mental health awareness education
  • Provides group support to program specialist and students
  • Ensure constant communication is made with other departments to plan, prepare and execute campus and community events
  • Maintain confidentiality and standards of ethical practice
  • Provides case notes for every intervention in the student electronic medical record
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience facilitating groups
  • Must have knowledge of prevention and recovery support systems, including community engagement, strategic prevention framework
  • Must have experience and/or a working knowledge of the criminal justice system
