To learn how to apply for a faculty or staff position using the Career worklet, please review this .POSITION SUMMARYThe Department of Neurology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a full time Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology in the Neurology Neuromuscular Division. The incumbent will be involved in the clinical care of neuromuscular patients at the UHealth clinics, University of Miami Hospital, and Jackson Memorial Hospital. The incumbent will be appointed at the rank of non-tenure earning Assistant Professor on the clinical educator track in the Neuromuscular Division, Department of Neurology at the University of Miami School of Medicine.JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESCare for patients in the UHealth outpatient settingsConduct EMGs at Uhealth, JMH and develop the EMG service at Uhealth TowerTrain/mentor physicians and staffPreparation and presentation at teaching conferencesDevelop research program in Neuromuscular DisorderObtain data and results that can be used to submit an application for future clinical research awardsWill conduct EMGs testing at Uhealth and JMH clinics and develop the EMG service at the University of Miami HospitalWill participate in the educational and mentorship activities of the Neuromuscular Division and the Department of NeurologyQUALIFICATIONSEducation and experience:Requires an MD degree from a recognized accredited University (or foreign equivalent)Neuromuscular Fellowship is also required and board certification in Neurology is strongly recommendedEligible for Florida Medical LicenseStrong clinical and research background in the areas of clinical or translational research in Neuromuscular DisorderKnowledge Skills and Abilities:Good communications skills (face to face, over the phone and in writing)Excellent customer service skills Ability to work collaboratively with other employees.Good organizational skills.WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTSWork conditions: work is normally performed in an indoor office environment.
