We have also been twice presented with a Four Star School status by the Indiana Department of Education which places Tindley in the top 25% of public schools in Indiana.We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Agricultural Science Teacher with expertise in animal or plant science to join our educational institution. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons in agricultural science, focusing on the specific area of animal or plant science. You will inspire and educate students on the principles, practices, and technologies used in modern agriculture, fostering their understanding and appreciation for sustainable and efficient farming methods. Your teaching will empower students to pursue careers in agriculture and contribute to the advancement of the industry.   • Develop and deliver instructional materials and lesson plans in agricultural science, with a focus on animal or plant science.
  • Teach students about the fundamental concepts, theories, and practical applications of agricultural science.
  • Incorporate hands-on learning experiences, laboratory work, and field trips to enhance student understanding and engagement.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in conducting research projects and experiments related to animal or plant science.
  • Assess student performance through exams, assignments, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering students' curiosity, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in agricultural science, attending professional development programs and workshops as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and participate in departmental meetings and initiatives.
  • Mentor and advise students on agricultural science career pathways, internships, and academic opportunities.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and community outreach programs to promote agricultural science education.
Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science, Animal Science, Plant Science, or a related field. A master's or doctoral degree is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in either animal or plant science, including genetics, nutrition, physiology, breeding, pathology, or other relevant areas.
  • Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience in agricultural science at the secondary or post-secondary level.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to students of varying levels of knowledge.
  • Passion for agriculture and the ability to inspire and motivate students to explore careers in the field.
  • Proficiency in instructional technology and the ability to integrate digital resources into teaching practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work well with colleagues, administrators, and parents.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and respects students' individual needs and backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to agricultural science education.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with current trends and research in agricultural science education.
