The manager provides leadership and oversight of the UWMC RN Abstraction Team and oversees collection and reporting of Nursing Quality Indicators for internal and external benchmarking for both UWMC campuses. This person reports to the UWMC Associate Director of Clinical Analytics.WORK SCHEDULE
Position is full time, day shift, hybrid of in-office and remote work.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage RN Clinical Abstraction Team ensuring timely and accurate data submissions to external registries.
  • Facilitate education and development of the team by connecting them to internal and external resources
  • Work with registry vendors to understand clinical definitions and requirements
  • Partner with department leadership to interpret clinical registry reports and identify improvement opportunities. Promote value of the clinical abstractions team's expertise and support their inclusion in relevant programs/committees
  • Engage clinical and administrative stakeholders by communicating report findings and opportunities
  • Oversee participation in NDNQI. Work with the NDNQI data abstractor to validate data and reporting and ensure it accurately reflect hospital performance. Support bi-annual Magnet certification process
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or other healthcare related degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Six years of healthcare experience with a minimum of two years managing or leading healthcare quality programs, projects or initiatives
  • Familiarity with data interpretation and presentation
  • Washington State RN license required by start date
