Engineering Technician

• The role involves critical materials testing and observation services on projects such as roadways, bridges, airports, large commercial developments, and remediation.
• The position requires performing field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.

• Conduct testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and specified procedures.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submission to the Project Manager.
• Communicate information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
• Demonstrate experience and proficiency in multiple areas of field testing and inspection or laboratory testing.
• Train lower-level technicians as needed.
• Lead activities of other engineering technicians in the laboratory or on larger field projects.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment.
• Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.
• Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent training and related experience.
• Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• ACI certification in one or more of the following: Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, nuclear density gauge, RRO, AWS, CWI, ASNT Level II.

• Proficiency in engineering framework and moisture testing.
• Ability to work independently and lead teams effectively.
