ABOUT NEW CITY KIDS
New City Kids is a high energy, creative program for and with youth in Jersey City, NJ, Paterson, NJ, Grand Rapids, MI and Detroit, MI that is unique in trusting teens with leadership. It is a joyful place filled with laughter and hard work, and has an excellent staff of dedicated adults who love children. We employ local high school students as interns to lead an excellent and unique music- focused after school center and summer camp for children ages 6-13, which provides a platform for a whole host of development opportunities for children. As kids and teens engage New City Kids, we come alongside them and invite them to know the power of the gospel and to become disciples of Jesus Christ.POSITION SUMMARYThe New City Kids Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for leading New City Kids’ operations within a designated city. The ED works closely with their leadership team to ensure that vision, programming, income generation, and staff development are leveraged towards the goal of bringing whole-life transformation to the children in the neighborhoods in which New City Kids works.SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct oversight of New City Kids’ site operations within a designated city
  • Support the vision of New City Kids, allowing God to use you to bring transformation to children and youth
  • Be the chief promoter of NCK’s mission and core values to the multiple locations
  • Within the framework of a national fundraising strategy, be accountable to raise funds adequate to meet the annual financial expectations of New City Kids
  • Represent New City Kids to the greater community through sound working relationships and arrangements with community organizations
  • Develop and engage with local board to fundraise, network, and provide volunteer opportunities
  • In partnership with Human Resources Recruit, hire, retain and develop and lead the city-wide team
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and compliance with applicable regulations and laws
REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong track record of team and organizational leadership (minimum of 3 years); nonprofit leadership preferred
  • Extensive fundraising experience, including major donor development, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
