Kelaca is seeking a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to work in a Hybrid capacity for our Client partner in Raleigh, NC who will support their growing business in designing, developing, and rapidly deploying solutions to problems of national importance.The successful candidate for this position will work with teams to design, develop, deploy, and maintain advanced Kubernetes clusters employing service meshes and customer operators across cloud and on-prem environments.The opportunity for career advancement and continued learning at The Company goes beyond project work. Key responsibilities include:
  • Deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters using tools like Terraform
  • Transitioning existing applications to cloud-native container solutions to modernize.
  • Day-to-day tasks involve engineering activities related to Kubernetes, such as cluster setup and application deployment, alongside backend architecture support.
Experience & Skills Requirements:Required Qualifications:
  • BS or higher in computer science, IT, engineering, applied mathematics, or a closely related field
  • 8-10 years relevant work experience with BS or 6-8 years relevant work experience with MS
  • Experience with containers, Kubernetes, Operators, and COTS Solutions such as Rancher RKE2
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience with IaC/CaC technologies (Terraform/Salt)
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools (e.g. Git/Jenkins/Harbor, CI/CD)
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with programming languages such as Rust, Java, or C++ and scripting languages such as Python/Perl
  • Experience with authentication systems such as O-Auth 2 or Keycloak
  • Experience with web backend frameworks such as Django, Flask, or ExpressJS
  • Experience with web client frameworks (Angular, Vue, React)
  • An active Secret or Top Secret security clearance preferred
