As an Estimating Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting manufacturing excellence and customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer prints and specifications to determine accurate purchase order costs
- Ensure production feasibility, including machining, plating, heat treat, grinding, and other sub-contractor requirements
- Monitor and forecast project costs and expenditures
- Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
- Identify tools, gauges, and fixtures needed for production
- Communicate with sales teams to clarify order details
- Recommend process improvements and support lean initiatives
- Build customer relationships and support program growth
- Mentor team members and contribute to a safe, collaborative work environment
- Maintain alignment with company goals and pricing strategies
- Support quality checks and sampling plans
- Provide feedback on machine efficiency and product quality
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in engineering or program management
- Strong understanding of GD&T and machining processes
- Experience with prototypes, PPAPs, and FAI submissions
- 2+ years CAD/CAM experience
- Excellent project management and spreadsheet skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects
- Experience in metal distribution
- CAD/CAM programming and machine knowledge
- Background in quoting large part packages (100+ parts)
