Overview:At St. Luke’s, our Certified Medical Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses are vital partners in delivering exceptional, compassionate care. In our Infectious Disease clinic, you’ll be part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment where every patient interaction matters.While our specialty focuses on infectious diseases, not all patients have communicable conditions. Many are undergoing long-term treatment or follow-up care, such as Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT), and pose no risk to staff. We prioritize safety and education to ensure our team feels confident and supported in every aspect of care.What You Can Expect in This Role:
  • Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Patient care: Room patients, collect vitals, and reconcile medications and allergies
  • Clinical procedures: Perform blood draws, POCT, and manage lab handling and reporting
  • OPAT support: Coordinate labs, follow-up care, and patient education
  • Hands-on assistance: Help with dressing removal, patient transfers, and provider prep
  • Communication: Triage calls, manage in-basket messages, and enter/read back provider orders
  • Safety & readiness: Maintain exam room cleanliness and participate in safety audits
CMA Qualifications:EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalentCertificationsCurrent BLS-CPR Certification from the American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association or American Red CrossCurrent recognized National Certification as a Medical Assistant from one of the following: NCCT, NAHP, AMT, AAMA, AMCA, or NHALPN Qualifications:EducationGraduation from a Licensed Practical Nursing ProgramCertificationsCurrent BLS-CPR Certification from the American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association or American Red CrossCurrent Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in the State of PracticeWhat’s in it for you:At St. Luke’s, caring for people in the communities we serve is our mission – and this includes our own SLHS team.
