Job Description:Mental Health Technician CoordinatorInova Health System is currently seeking a Mental Health Technician Coordinator to join our team supporting our Behavioral Health Services team assisting in the delivery of direct patient care in a safe holistic manner. Job Responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Provides basic triage of patients, registers patients, takes vital signs and provides information on status. Communicates abnormal values and clinical changes to the appropriate staff member within 15 minutes.
  • Provides administrative support by answering phones, transcribing orders and maintaining charts including the answering and screening of telephone calls while providing appropriate information or referring to other staff members. Will also Makes copies, sends/receives faxes and opens/distributes mail.
  • Registers patients for emergency and outpatient services while ensuring complete and accurate information is obtained and schedules appointments in automated scheduling system.
  • Reinforces transition/discharge teaching and home care skills. Utilizes the Healthcare Event Form to report variances in practice.
  • Communicates and collaborates with care team members to develop, implement and evaluate the plan of care to meet individualized patient care outcomes.
Requirements for consideration:
  • 1 year of relevant experience is required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS through the American Heart Association upon start
