
Asphalt Paving Laborer Class B

- Operate small equipment and hand tools on a variety of job sites consisting of paving, grading, pipe installation, and site work.
- Maintains housekeeping of job site and facilities, ensures equipment is in good working order
- Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in asphalt paving, typical site work, grading, storm/sanitary/water pipe installation, etc
- Properly follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager.
- Performs routine inspection and preventative and corrective maintenance on small equipment and hand tools if within abilities; escalates issues that are not repairable or safe.
- Routinely assists other members of the crew as needed, including shoveling and cleanup
- Fuel, oil and grease to ensure proper function of equipment and complete associated paperwork
- Performs other related activities as assigned
- High School Diploma (or equivalency) AND prior relevant job experience
- Valid/Clean Driver’s License
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must have the ability to work a varied schedule of day shift, night shift, and weekends due to construction contracts
- Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment (excavator and loader experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in typical site work, grading, storm/sanitary/water pipe installation, etc
- Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
- Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
- $27.00 per hour base pay. (PA DOL Prevailing wage pay based on work.)
