
North American Fleet Manager

- Manages a fleet comprised of approximately 2000 vehicles, 1400 drivers and 650 pieces of material handling equipment across 109 locations for Komatsu.
- Drives value, defines processes and determines capabilities in alignment with business strategies related to fleet asset procurement, repair, maintenance, emissions compliance, daily inspections, safety and performance telematics systems, and licensing and vehicle registrations.
- Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements. Manage vehicle specifications and purchase of new vehicles. Develops optimal asset replacement cycles and multi-year capital budget recommendations
- Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets to maximize productivity
- Develops, implements, and manages overall fleet programs and policies to achieve the lowest life-cycle cost of ownership while supporting the success of field operations
- Provides oversight of multiple fleet operations throughout North America
- Manages all fleet suppliers; negotiates all pricing and service levels
- Audits North American fleet operation locations for compliance to DOT record and reporting requirements and to Komatsu defined training requirements, maintenance schedules and standards
- Oversee Department of Transportation (DOT) registrations for fleet vehicles, ensuring timely compliance with federal and state regulations and accurate records are maintained to support operational readiness and regulatory audits.
- Oversee International Regulation Plan (IRP) compliance for interstate fleet operations, including multi-state commercial vehicle registrations, reporting, and renewals
- Obtain and oversee annual inspections of fleet assets (including cranes, compressors, welders, and other tooling and equipment related to fleet vehicles) as required
- Travel away from base location up to 30% of the time, including overnight travel, visiting branch locations, meeting with coworkers and vendors, and otherwise manage fleet operations throughout North America
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent fleet experience
- Fleet Experience and Knowledge - DOT, Operational, Maintenance, Fleet Program management
- 7+ years of related experience
- Demonstrated fleet knowledge and drive for cost and process improvements
- Strong planning, organizational and project management skills required
