Job Opening: Construction Accounts Payable Specialist (Onsite – Anaheim, CA)We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist with a background in construction accounting to join a dynamic and growing team in Anaheim, CA. This is a full-time, onsite position offering the opportunity to expand your role and responsibilities over time.Compensation:
$28 – $32/hour depending on experience and qualificationsIndustry Requirement:
Candidates must have construction industry experience, preferably with a general contractor.Key Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of experience in construction accountingProficiency in cost accounting, invoice coding, and document trackingStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office programsExperience with Sage 300 CRE, Procore, or similar construction software is preferredExcellent communication and organizational skillsPrimary Responsibilities (AP Focus):Manage the workflow of incoming vendor and subcontractor invoicesPursue and track invoice approvals; maintain clear communication with project managers and vendorsEnsure accurate coding of costs to the correct job, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expensesProcess monthly overhead and operating expenses, including credit cards and fuel chargesCollect and review lien waivers for subcontractor paymentsParticipate in monthly accounting reviews with project managers and the accounting teamSecondary Responsibilities (AR Support):Assist with monthly billing schedules and client invoicingPrepare documentation for AIA billing submissionsEnter contract budgets and owner change ordersHelp resolve billing discrepancies and communicate with clientsProcess cash receipts and manage collections of aged receivablesContribute to daily/monthly cash flow and job variance reportsSupport general accounting tasks as neededIdeal Candidate Will Be:Detail-oriented and proactive with a strong sense of accountabilityAble to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentA team player with a willingness to learn and grow within the organizationFamiliar with construction cost structures, budgets, and job cost tracking
