The OpportunityThis position works on site at our Portland, Oregon location in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.What You’ll Work On
  • Be an active member of the site leadership team, and lead site safety, quality, service and continuous improvement activities as required. Be an active participant in site strategic planning & execution.
  • Manage, develop, coach and educate the Supply Chain Excellence resources to deliver on site commitments and priorities.
  • Responsible for all site Supply Chain activities including capacity planning, inventory management, purchasing, finite production planning and scheduling of incoming raw materials and finished product.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Safety, Quality and Regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with vendors, driving continuous cost reductions through negotiations, projects, and supplier engineering activities while ensuring quality supply continuity.
  • Purchasing responsibility for both inventory and non-inventory functions, and maintaining appropriate stock levels for parts, raw materials and finished goods.
  • Contracts management for the site, including but not limited to integrated facility management.
  • Communicate with site and division management on Supply Chain related issues requiring attention or improvement.
  • Provide oversight to warehouse supervisor and team, ensuring execution of daily material control and management.
  • Build site awareness and engagement of Supply Chain Excellence principles through effective communication, education & training.
  • Manage the visual Supply Chain communication strategy on site and ensure a clear linkage between division strategy, site strategy and individual metrics with a key focus on pledge behaviors.
  • Liaise and benchmark with other locations across the Medical Device Network and beyond to improve systems and develop improvement opportunities.
  • Manage and support all Learning & Development initiatives and site approval processes.
  • Conducting business in a manner that will protect human health, safety and the environment by complying with all applicable EHS laws and Abbott Global & Technical Standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8+ years previous work experience and progressively responsible experience in an operation, supply chain, or related area, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment; three of which with people management responsibility.
  • Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain & Operations functions to include Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, Manufacturing and Quality
  • Knowledge of strategic planning processes.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing inward and out bound supply chain to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive enterprise excellence improvement initiatives leading to significant and measurable improvements in performance.
