The Quality Improvement Officer is part of a team which supports the agency in achieving and maintaining national and or local accreditation such as, but not limited to, CQL (The Council on Quality and Leadership). The AHRC NYC quality team works to drive and measure impact beyond regulation measures.This role focuses on person-centered thinking and practices, with an emphasis in using the Personal Outcome Measures® (POM) from CQL. The POM tool is a person-centered discovery tool that uses guided, structured conversations to explore the presence, importance, and achievement of personally defined outcomes, along with the supports that help people attain their individual goals and dreams.Salary: $60,000- $67,000 per year based on experience. In addition, this position comes with a very generous and comprehensive Benefit package. See Benefit information below.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify and integrate best practices to enhance service quality and promote innovation.
  • Act as the team lead for tracking and capturing agency wide work as it relates to person-centered supports and services.
  • Obtain and maintain certification as a CQL Personal Outcome Measures (POM) Interviewer for adults.
  • Coordinate POM related activities, including POM workshops and trainings, interviewee outreach and recruitment, interviewee assignments, report distribution and POM follow up activities.
  • Help contribute to the organizational systems and practices for POM report follow up and collaboration.
  • Collaborate on the use of POM to evaluate and enhance agency outcomes.
  • Help lead person centered thinking training, creation and dissemination of tools and communicating the organizational standards of person-centered practices.
  • Foster a culture of person-centered thinking through collaboration, creativity, and challenging the status quo.
  • Help analyze quality-related data and help shape effective data workflows and methodologies.
  • Participate in team meetings and regular supervision.
  • Perform additional and related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in the disability or social services sector.
  • Creative, open-minded, and future-focused thinker.
  • Passionate about and committed to AHRC NYC’s mission.
  • Confident communicator with experience presenting, training, and engaging diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Willing and able to travel across NYC during business hours for in person work, with occasional evening or weekend availability as needed.
  • Comfortable working with data—gathering, interpreting, and applying insights to improve quality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn other digital tools related to quality metrics and reporting.
