The ED Tech stocks supplies and performs clerical activities to assist nurses and physicians in meeting patient care needs. He/she actively communicates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to identify and resolve basic patient care needs.Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
  • Provides direct patient care and supports multidisciplinary healthcare team in a safe, cost effective manner. Performs basic patient care activities in accordance with departmental policy to maintain patient's safety, comfort and privacy.
  • Stocks and maintains supplies throughout the department.
  • Provides clerical support as needed. Accurately logs messages and ensures that appropriate personnel are notified.
  • Assists in collection of patient's history and ensures confidentiality of records.
  • Actively participates in hour rounding as appropriate for the unit each shift.
  • Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and restocking of room supplies as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.   • At least 6 months experience in an emergency department setting or 12 months experience as an ambulance attendant is preferred.
  • Nursing Students in their first semester or higher
Education/Licensure/Certification:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency or evidence of higher education required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Current California EMT licensure is preferred.
