- Provides overall direction for the FDC, ensuring operational excellence across all functions.
- Develops and executes strategic plans to meet service, cost, and safety objectives.
- Leads cross-functional collaboration to optimize workflows and resource utilization.
- Departmental Oversight
- Directly manages the Shipping and Receiving Manager and Inventory Manager; oversees the Transportation and Safety Managers through dotted-line relationships.
- Aligns departmental goals with broader organizational objectives.
- Monitors KPIs and drives accountability across all functional areas.
- Safety & Compliance
- Champions a culture of safety and ensures full compliance with OSHA and internal standards.
- Partners with the Safety Manager to oversee programs, audits, and corrective actions.
- Promotes proactive risk management and employee well-being.
- Inventory & Logistics Management
- Ensures inventory accuracy through effective control processes.
- Coordinates with Transportation and Operations teams for timely and accurate product movement.
- Supports system enhancements and process improvements to streamline logistics.
- Team Development & Engagement
- Builds a high-performance leadership team through coaching and development.
- Fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Leads succession planning and talent development initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drives Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Leads cross-functional projects to enhance productivity and service levels.
- Implements standardized processes and best practices across the FDC.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in distribution center or warehouse operations, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success in managing multi-functional teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, inventory management, safety compliance, and transportation.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; WMS and ERP system experience preferred.
- Preferred: Oversight experience of a large distribution center with complex shipping lanes across a regional or national network.
