Job Description:Baptist Health Medical GroupAdministrative Medical AssistantPrimary Care officeeCrestwood areaFull Time/First ShiftEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. This position may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.Able to respond to patient call backs and phone in prescription refill requests. Overdue results, patient encounters.Proactively obtains any missing information from the patient to ensure that medical records are accurate and up to date, which helps to ensure better care is being provided.Upon arrival, captures patient’s vital signs, past medical, social and family history, medication usage and preferred pharmacy information.Able to administer medication and injections, as directed by Physician/ProviderAble to perform phlebotomy on patients, as directed by the Physician/ ProviderAble to perform EKG’s, PFT’s spirometry, nebulizer treatments and ear irrigations, and other procedures, as required by the practice and directed by the Physician/ProviderAble to perform in-office lab testing such as glucose testing, strep screens, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and HgA1c as directed by the physician/provider.Able to perform sterilization on instruments used for minor procedures/surgeries according to the CDC recommended guidelines.Maintains all certifications/licensures as required by the scope of the role being performed.Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements including HIPAA/OSHA compliance.Minimum Education, Training, and Experience RequiredHigh School Diploma or General Education Equivalency plus:Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information, plus.Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate to be received within 90 days, plus one of the followingPrior working experience as a C.N.A, EMT, Phlebotomist, Athletic Trainer or other healthcare discipline that provides direct patient care.Or a Certified MA from the National Health Career Association (NHA).Or completed any MA education program but has not received certification as of yet.Medical Assistant, Clinic, Administrator Assistant, Scheduler, Coordinator, Billing, MA Admin, Practice, LPN, EMT, Phlebotomist, AT, Athletic Trainer, Healthcare, NHA, Medical Administrator, CMA, Certified Medical Assistant, Office Administrator, Patient Access, Clinical, Full Time, BenefitsIf you would like to be part of a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork and innovation, we urge you to apply now!Baptist Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
