It’s an electrifying time to join us!The Maintenance Welder is a key role in our manufacturing operations, primarily responsible for operating welding machines in a fabrication shop to complete projects throughout the production areas. This position requires a meticulous approach to ensure that all products meet stringent specifications and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and tend welding machines to fabricate assemblies, ensuring adherence to defined specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of workpieces, welding machine parts, and equipment, utilizing various hand tools like grinders, wire cutters, and hammers.
  • Safely transfer components and metal products using hoists and cranes.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of products to guarantee compliance with specifications, employing measuring devices.
  • Ability to fabricate structural projects based from blueprints with minimal supervision.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines as mandated.
  • Promptly report any machine malfunctions, material defects, or unusual conditions to the maintenance manager.
  • Uphold excellent housekeeping standards in work areas, aligning with 5S (lean) principles.
  • Understand basic machine functions to efficiently perform required tasks.
  • Remain open to frequent supervision and assistance, particularly in equipment setup.
  • Concentrate diligently on tasks, maintaining high levels of productivity and focus.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, including quality, safety, and environmental standards as outlined in the ISO 9001/14001/18001 and the GSS integrated management system.
  • Participate actively in safety meetings, training, and adhere to all safety guidelines.
  • Engage in job training programs as organized by Management and be willing to learn new systems and methods.
  • Perform other related tasks as necessary, adapting to different workstations based on production needs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; additional certification in SMAW/GMAW welding (e.g., AWS D1.1) preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience or completion of a recognized welding program.
  • Proficient in weld settings and familiar with the SMAW/GMAW process.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment and manufacturing safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, perform basic math, and use hand-held measuring tools.
  • Excellent command of the English language for effective communication.
  • Capable of working 12-hour shifts, overtime, and in non-climate-controlled environments.
  • High attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong team player.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills.
