Job Description:
The Project Manager position will be based out of the office in Plainville, Connecticut and is the face of the company to our customers. In this role, all communications regarding a given project are the responsibility of the Project Manager and will be responsible for individual proposal management, ensuring the most complete offering with the greatest potential for award and contract. Once the project is won the Project Engineer is responsible to protect the project Gross Margin, ensure all equipment meets the project goals, and maintain open dialog with the customer. The Project Engineer shall work in a multi-tasking team-environment to assist with maintaining contract requirements and achieving company goals. As part of the Company Projects group, this individual will interface with the companies corporate staff, engineering / R&D / Design drafting, along with and our extensive network of global partner offices as needed.
The Project Engineer has a responsibility to ensure that he/she maintains a working knowledge of all company Power products, and can discuss technical issues with the customer.
Job Duties:
  • Analyzes and interprets customer inquiries, including specifications, to design and specify appropriate equipment for the application.
  • Travels to customer's facilities for site support and details needed for technical review and proposal generation.
  • Assists with technical development and risk assessment of customer inquiries.
  • Establishes cost budget for jobs by working with cost specialists.
  • Writes, edits, and issues formal quotations to customer.
  • Follow-up on any written or verbal correspondence with customer during quotation phase.
  • Assist with the creation and modification of sales presentations / documents using Microsoft Office, Excel / PowerPoint / Publisher / Adobe and all Web based systems.
  • Full responsibility of management and project engineering of company projects/contracts.
  • Sole point person for all communications regarding a project from receipt of order through shipment and equipment turnover.
  • Confirms equipment selection and design and perform / coordinate required calculations and sketches to establish equipment design.
  • Ensures all required drawings are completed and meets project requirements. Reviews customer mark-up prints and instructs design drafting as to disposition.
  • Control project to follow the established budget and margin requirements.
  • Maintains delivery schedule for job based on Customer requirements and company's workloads, including coordination of drafting, purchasing, manufacturing and quality control. Pre-order materials as required for meeting delivery.
  • Coordinates all required technical and commercial correspondence related to the job. This includes all internal communications and all correspondence with the Customer, end user, sales reps, and/or outside consultants.
  • International and Domestic travel to project meetings and/or jobsites.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or related field)
  • 5+ years of industry experience (ie. sales and/or industry experience)
