The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or Experience:
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD)
  • State Dentist License
  • BLS for healthcare providers (AHA or ARC)
  • 2 years of clinical practice experience
  • Teaching experience preferred
All dental hygiene program faculty members must have:
  • Current knowledge of the specific subjects they are teaching.
  • Documented background in current educational methodology concepts consistent with teaching assignments.
  • Faculty who are dental hygienists or dentists must be graduates of programs accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
  • A dentist who was appointed as a faculty prior to July 1, 2022 is exempt from the graduation requirement.
  • Evidence of faculty calibration for clinical evaluation.
