For more information, visit www.aapmr.org.Position OverviewReporting to the AED of Operations, the Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic partner and leader across the Academy, managing and executing a broad range of HR, operational, and administrative functions. This role is responsible for implementing HR best practices, enhancing organizational culture, and overseeing HR operations, vendor relationships, and facilities management.Key Responsibilities
Partner with senior leadership to align HR strategy with the Academy's strategic plan and mission. Lead organizational development and change management efforts as the Academy grows and evolves.
Drive initiatives that support a culture of inclusion, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Administer compensation programs and benefits offerings, including outsourced and/or brokered services; regularly benchmark against industry standards to ensure competitiveness and equity.
Lead annual benefits renewal and open enrollment processes. Serve as the Group Plan Administrator and expert resource for all employee benefits programs and inquiries.
Collaborate with the Accounting team to manage HR budgets and payroll compliance.
Maintain and enhance employee handbook, HR policies, procedures, and training and development programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Advise on federal, state, and local employment laws, compliance, and regulations around labor, compensation, and benefits.
Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding processes to attract and retain high-quality staff, including workforce plans, recruiting, job descriptions, interviews, reference checks, employment offers, and employee benefit enrollment, and onboarding/orientation.
Manage offboarding processes including required notifications and exit interviews.
Serve as a resource and trusted advisor to staff and managers on employee relations and engagement issues.
Lead internal HR audits and investigations and maintain required documentation.
Oversee performance management processes and professional development programs that dynamically align with organizational goals.
Continuously develop and maintain employee engagement initiatives based on feedback from leadership and staff.
Oversee relationships with HR-related vendors, including benefits brokers, insurance providers, recruitment agencies, background check services, and employee training partners.
Manage vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with service-level agreements. Evaluate and recommend vendor solutions to improve HR and operational efficiency.
AAPM&R OffersBased on experience and skillsets, the salary range for the HR Manager role is $75,000 - $80,000/annually. AAPM&R offers the following benefits:

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, or a related field required.
SHRM-SCP and/or SPHR certification recommended.
Minimum 5+ years of progressively responsible HR experience.
Extensive knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead with integrity, empathy, and strategic vision.
Proven experience in nonprofit or association environments is a plus.
Exceptional interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills. Ability to work under deadline pressure and on several projects concurrently.
Paylocity knowledge is a plus.
