- Goal is to ensure that DevOps practices align with the needs of Software Product Development teams and broader organizational goals.
- Focuses on optimizing cross-functional collaboration and ensuring that build, integration, and release workflows are reliable, traceable, and aligned with regulatory standards for medical device software.
- Own the evolution and success of DevOps processes, tools, and services in support of streamlining software development, integration, and release activities. Set long-term goals and roadmaps for DevOps initiatives in collaboration with organizational leadership.
- Collaborate with software development, IT, security, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment and reduce friction across the SDLC. Represent DevOps in planning meetings, quality reviews, and cross-functional initiatives. Identify and resolve process friction, working proactively to improve efficiency, traceability, and compliance.
- Champion the adoption of DevOps methods - e.g., CI/CD, IaC, automation and observability solutions - and best practices throughout the organization. Maintain team goals aligned with business priorities and communicate them effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to DevOps team members. Set goals and expectations, and support career development through regular check-ins and growth planning. Foster a team culture that values ownership and autonomy, transparency, and collaboration.
- Stay up to date with relevant industry trends and emerging technologies; propose means to leverage them as appropriate.
- 2+ years of engineering management experience required.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, software infrastructure, or build/release engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, build orchestration, version control, and release management methods and best practices.
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions and drive process improvements.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, systems-thinking mindset.
