(What you will do)
- The Accounting Manager will prepare and review Journal Entries with special emphasis on technical adjustments, directly overseeing a large portion of enterprise accounting, leading month-end close and financial statement review, ensuring proper compliance in demanding, high-pedigree environment.
- Effectively manage, motivate, and train assigned staff and provide regular (daily where appropriate) status of work-in-progress responsibilities to the Senior Director of Corporate Accounting.
- Provide financial support for ad-hoc projects.
- Evaluate and identify areas of potential exposure and internal control weakness, and evaluate and improve processes and work flows to improve completion times.
- Manage corporate benefits accounting (i.e. medical, dental, vision, 401(k), various bonus compensation plans)
- Manage other corporate type accounting matters including debt, insurance, technology cost, fixed assets etc.
- Manage the accounting for the corporate companies - regional management, programming, and operations center.
- Provide insight on current processes and supporting the Finance groups in delivery of Budget and Forecasts.
(What to bring)
- BS or BA in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent
- 8+ years related experience, strong knowledge of US GAAP rules and regulations.
- Prior exposure to corporate accounting processes and a proven ability to work cross-functionally.
- High energy with the ability to lead an accounting staff through transformational change.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Strategic thinker who possesses the ability to effectuate meaningful change and identify opportunities for process enhancement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
- Strong analytical account analysis skills
- Strong verbal communication/interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate relevant business processes to both accounting and non-accounting members of senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of monthly closing, forecasting, and budgeting processes
- Experience with Workday
