This role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with R&D, Operations, Product portfolio, Sales & Marketing teams, as well as OEM customers to promote a wide portfolio to meet the needs of this growing market channel. The North America market has experienced a tremendous amount of growth over the past 2 to 3 years and this demand is expected to continue for the next several years. With the goal of delivering ABB MV and LV technologies to the market this can be done through ABB manufactured Switchgear offerings and with the growing opportunity that resides with OEM partners. This position is focused on the creation and implementation of the overall NAM product solution portfolio for the partner/OEM business with a focus on maximizing the value of the ABB intellectual property in both Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear/MCC offerings.This position reports toBusiness Manager - PortfolioYour responsibilities
  • Responsible for the creation of product & service strategies to support OEMs through abbreviated (SKU or configured to order) product offerings, UL file extensions, and license agreements. Work with the sales and marketing team to develop a multi-tiered product positioning program based on the ABB Switchgear and Motor Control designs
  • Develop and drive strategy to accomplish cost and lead time targets desired by targeted OEM customers
  • Build productive relationships across the NAM Business Line and commercial teams. Working collaboratively with marketing, engineering, R&D (Research and Development) and with factory Quality and Operation teams to effectively on-board new OEMs for UL extensions and license agreements to ensure on-going plans are compliant with contractual agreements
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities, expand market share, and enhance product offerings
  • Supervise the prompt execution of investment plans to turn the MRS’s into successful product / program releases
  • Defining product/system/service customer value proposition for the OEM channel
  • Drive product lifecycle management activities, including Market Requirement Specification (MRS) development, pricing strategies, product positioning, and end-of-life planning
  • Work with marketing team on market / opportunity sizing, targeting strategic accounts and materials to create demand
  • Work with the sales team's on target customer conversions
  • Lead through collaboration across the cross-functional teams to drive ownership and accountability in the development of the products and services to serve the OEM customers
Your background
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering (preferred) or related field plus 10 years relevant experience with Low and Medium Voltage (required) with at least some exposure to relevant sectors, e.g., OEM’s / Industrials
  • MBA with special combination of work experience a plus
  • Switchgear technical knowledge inclusive of design, manufacturing, and relevant IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) standards
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Requires technical understanding and application of low voltage and medium voltage distribution equipment into complex electrical systems
  • Proven expertise and understanding of the power distribution market requirements
  • Experience in dealing with the cultural diversity of a global business environment
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and team skills in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
  • Excellent technical training, speaking, and writing skills
  • Must be able to independently conduct presentations and training
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a customer-centric approach to problem-solving
  • Experience with Switchgear manufacturing, design, & quality preferred
  • Available for 30% travel US and Mexico
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
