Head Start Education Coaching CoordinatorSouthern Seven Health Department is seeking applications for a regular, full time Head Start Education Coaching Coordinator based at the Administrative Office in Ullin, Illinois. This position does come with a benefit package, including vacation, personal, and sick time accrual, holidays, health and life insurance, and an employer sponsored cafeteria plan.This position is responsible for providing high-quality coaching, guided reflection, training and technical assistance on best practices related to early learning and supporting social development for Head Start/Early Head Start education staff. This position will also provide assistance to the Education Specialist and/or Education Team.Qualifications: The applicant must have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood; preferences will be given to an applicant with a Professional Educator License and/or Endorsement. An "approved related" Bachelor's degree would be considered with at least 21 college hours in Early Childhood with experience in a Head Start or early educational settingJob Duties:
  • Establishes a comfortable relationship with assigned teaching staff "coachee" while supporting him or her to assess his or her strengths and needs in effective instructional practices.
  • Develops an individualized plan with the "coachee" that includes goals related to improving instructional outcomes and intentional teaching strategies in accordance with School Readiness Goals and the Early Learning Outcomes Framework.
  • Schedules, plans and facilitates onsite visits and coaching sessions on a regular scheduled and documents progress for each visit.
  • Provides support, feedback, and reflection opportunities to the "coachee" by sharing resources, modeling, side by side verbal support, and skill building opportunities.
  • Assists the Education Team in scoring developmental assessments.
  • Assists the Education Team in developing or revising coaching procedures and/or documents as needed.
  • Assists the Education Team with providing group trainings and conducting classroom observations.
