If you have strong attention to detail and enjoy implementing new programs, procedures and want to utilize your organizational skills, this may be the job for you. You will get an opportunity to expand your knowledge around correctional programming, risk assessments, and implementation of new programs while ensuring all required responsibilities are met by the department. - Plans, coordinates, and directs clinical services in the areas of staff, personnel, issues, problem solving, technical interpretation issues and fiscal matters.
- Serves as full line supervisor.
- Oversee the coordination of staff conducting a comprehensive risk, assets and needs assessments, case plans and evaluation of clinical programming.
- Serves as coordinator and supervisor of the Drug Treatment program.
- Serves as a member of various institution committees including the Policy Review and Employees Recognition programs.
- Interprets and enforces the Department Rules and administrative directives as they apply to the functions of Clinical Staff, Field Services, and Records Office.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires education and experience equivalent to a master's degree in the behavioral or social sciences.
- Requires three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in corrections, juvenile rehabilitation, behavioral, social sciences, or a related field.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience providing counseling services to individuals in a custody setting.
- Prefers three (3) years of professional supervisory experience.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience participating as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience implementing a clinical programming schedule.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience delivering clinical programming in relation to counseling or human development.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience evaluating evidence-based programming.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience utilizing computer systems in relation to counseling and/or human development.
- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
- This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.) requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretary of State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement of Economic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission. (See Executive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings.
