Property Controller - CommercialResponsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
  • Review and analyze financial statements, explaining budget-to-actual variances for income statements and balance sheets.
  • Maintain accounting schedules and ensure adherence to reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare and present property accounting reports to senior leadership, including observations and recommendations.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy of financial data and compliance with policies.
  • Review property cash flow analyses, tenant charges, receipts, and accruals.
  • Ensure financial records align with lease agreements and reporting requirements.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the property accounting team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of applicable tax reports and ensure timely payments.
  • Support preparation of financial data and reports for external filings and audits.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic forecasts.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of commercial property accounting accounting experience; CPA a plus.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager is required.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
