- Oversee and manage the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
- Review and analyze financial statements, explaining budget-to-actual variances for income statements and balance sheets.
- Maintain accounting schedules and ensure adherence to reporting deadlines.
- Prepare and present property accounting reports to senior leadership, including observations and recommendations.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy of financial data and compliance with policies.
- Review property cash flow analyses, tenant charges, receipts, and accruals.
- Ensure financial records align with lease agreements and reporting requirements.
- Lead, manage, and mentor the property accounting team to achieve departmental goals.
- Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of applicable tax reports and ensure timely payments.
- Support preparation of financial data and reports for external filings and audits.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic forecasts.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of commercial property accounting accounting experience; CPA a plus.
- Experience with Yardi Voyager is required.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with strong integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
